They want to have it up for a vote by Sept. Do you think it will pass?

Yes. I think they are desperate to say that they did something before the congressional elections this year. They are not doing anything for Americans.
I hope people consider that these people have not performed their duties at all so they are going to pass something in the last two quarters to claim they have been working diligently to resolve issues. Hopefully people will not fall for it.10 Senators have a plan for the oil crisis involving conservation and drilling ...?
No. I dont think it will go for a vote. Libs cant win on a vote any way they go so their going to block it.
They are desperate to demonstrate they are capable of accomplishing something. Our congress is overloaded with eunuchs and pompous morons. If this is passed, it will help them save some small amount of face.
If it doesn't, not only will they have alot of American's crying for their blood, but things will only get worse, and eventually they will have to listen to the poeple they so often ignore.
But lets not stop there in our outrage. What of the people trying to be responsible and get oil from oil shale ? The fine and moronic democrat politicians there are blocking the company from doing it in favor of ';reasearching'; it first. Just the same kind of delays that Congress has been doing for 7 years now to make things this desperate.
What of Ted Kennedy refusing wave generator technology to be used on the east coast where he would have to see it, but I guess its ok to build one by the poor.
China and Mexico is already drilling some 80 miles off the FL coast, yet we can't ? Not like an American oil rig would be any more unsightly than one from China or Mexico.
I heard the same enviro whachols whining how the Alaskan pipeline would destroy the Caribou, but it didn't after it was built. Now they cry about drilling in ANWR because of the polar bear. 75% of the polar bears live in Canada, and they only want to use 2000 acres out of 19 million ?
Going green isn't too bad a thing...as long as its reasonable, there's an advantage to it and it generally is a help to mankind. Not the whacko, fraudulent and lacking initiatives we have going on now days because some eviromentalist ran amuk and made the process political.
Most politicians wouldn't know ';green'; if it bit them on the butt, time and time again they prove themselves to be many times in many subjects more ignorant than the American people and not worthy of being a leader or representative.
Hopefully so. It would be about time we had a real solution to relieve the base load generators.
The only real long term solution is nuclear though.
Maybe these are the ';Smart Ten'; and hopefully not the ';Politically Correct Ten';.
We need to drill our own oil, conserve energy in every area, create alternative power sources, new Nuclear power plants and new refineries.
By drilling our own oil we will cease to send our money to countries that hate us. Make it mandatory for cars to be better fuel efficient IMMEDIATELY. Make it mandatory car companies offer fuel cell cars IMMEDIATELY. Make it mandatory all buildings and communities use the latest technology to conserve energy of all kinds. Promote solar cell and wind power production through federal grants and tax deferments and make it legal to use it in the best areas. We need at least 100 new Nuclear Power plants within the next ten years, let's start NOW. We need at least 15 new refineries within the next ten years, let's start NOW.
