Has the 'drilling' venture quieted down since oil has lost $30 in the last 20 days?

I realize that most Americans are dumb as bricks when it comes to the concept of supply vs. demand. Or how much of a finite supply we have on hand as it is.

But it's interesting to note that the boards have been suddenly QUIET of people demanding that Congress support drilling openly on the Outer Continental Shelf.

Or do they only complain when gas is going for $4.50 a gallon and we were once staring down the barrel of $150 oil?

No. Because we are not supposed to be paying $3.60 for a gallon of gas!!!!!!!!! When are you going to understand this? Gas was $1.50 in 2000. And that's what it needs to be. We need to keep looking for external sources until the gas goes down to that level! And of course, on the side, we must look for alternative sources. Wow, Sky -- I didn't know you were logged onto Yahoo Answers day and night, keeping count of how many questions and answers that have been posted about the drilling issue in the last 20 days.

Do you keep count by yourself, or do you have a team of staffers helping you out?

Can you give us some stats and some evidence regarding how many people have been posting messages about drilling in the past 20 or so days?

Is your perception of the YA board activity supposed to be a reliable barometer by which we can judge Americans' interest in the drilling issue?

By the way, in case you hadn't noticed, the Olympics are going on and meanwhile, Russia is on the brink of war with one of its neighbors.

Maybe it's just me, but perhaps those two events have temporarily taken people's attention away from drilling for the time being. But that doesn't mean that it's not important to people anymore.

.
Drilling isnt going to releave the pressure we are dealing with now because if they started now it would be 5 years before that oil would go into cerculation. We need to find an alternative fuel sorce but americans are so single minded and only look at the present and not the future. they are too conserned with how much it will cost them up frount and dont see the potiental savings that may take some time to achive.

As for the reason that the price of oil is going down is because the oil companies reliezed that the global economy couldnt handle oil at $150. they reliezed that at that price it was hurting their own pocket books more and that they could make more by selling it at a lower price because more people would by it at the lower price and would buy more of it.

My gasoline is all the way down to $4.25. I'm cruisin'.

I say drill here. Drill there. Drill everywhere oil is because until Nancy Pelosi and Barrack Hussein Obama come up with something better, this world still runs on oil. Three years supply, my hump.
It has dropped in price BECAUSE of the discussions. If there is a chance of greater supply prices go down. Just like they go up if a hurricane is perceived to threaten current supplies.
Not for me, we will see it up again after the olympics, China had to shut down so we could see the Olympics. Let's cut off the terrorist money tree and stop shelling out 70 billion a year to the Muslims.
No. We need to do it and do it now.
No, and the dollar drop was just retarded for the moment by the bailout, and will end up worse in the long run because of it.
