John McCain wants the coast of Florida and California to chance Oil spills and ruination, with drilling, why?

Drilling for Oil off the coasts of Florida and California will do nothing to ease oil prices for 7 or 8 years from now, why risk ruining America's off-shore on some risky adventure that would not make much difference anyway for years and years, if it even did at that time? Is John McCain getting foolish in his old age or does he seriously believe risking an oil spill off shore is an answer to high-energy prices at this time? How? What would change anything to help with high-prices today? Is this another gimmick like the gas-tax, he proposed eliminating that would have lost jobs immediately had it been instituted? John McCain is almost scary, he comes up with bonehead idea's and it is as if he is not dealing within the realm of reality! How much medication is John McCain taking and how often? Is any of it mind altering? Something is amiss with John McCain...is he going senile? He seems to be very confused at times and at other times he seems to be unable to complete sentences! He doesn't want that. He's just saying that to pander to his party. He flip-fopped because it became politically expedient to change his mind. For such an environmentalist and maverick in his party he's really turned out to be a coward and a hypocrite. It's not going to have huge longterm effects except on the environment. Oil spills and ruination??? And who is it you libs accuse of being fear mongers again??? China is already drilling off the Florida coast, halfway between Cuba and Key West. Further, for all the extensive damage Katrina caused, NOT ONE OIL RIG DRIPPED ONE DROP! Which proves we have the technology to drill safely and reduce our dependence on OPEC.
so in the mean time do nothing and ruin the future economy of the us because you want to stay dependent on other countries until a change over is possible.wow.as far as a oil spill off of the coast name just one for me that came from a oil platform,you can't.even through hurricane katrina.more liberal lies.
If you think about it, drilling here would actually save money rather than buying it from the Middle East. Using our own natural resources would decrease our dependence on other nations. Ethanol is obviously out of the question at present because of all the flooding here in the Midwest.
That is a real solution to the problem. Obama wants a windfall profit tax that will increase the cost of gas. Which seems like a good plan to you.
Wake up and join the real world. If we had started drilling here years ago, then we wouldn't be in this mess we find ourselves in now.

and by the way there is just as much risk is shipping the oil from the middle east over the ocean in BOATS to have an oil spill...

It is a stupid Idea America will always find a way to be run on foreign Oil off shore drilling is one of the few things the McCain camp will use to try and look like he is doing something when he is actually doing nothing about Gas prices
