Does it seem like a stupid idea to drill for oil in Bristol Bay, one of Aslaska's most productive fisheries?

Answer: Yes, of course it is. But not if your family is Big Oil.

Pretty shortsighted.

What do you think?

.Does it seem like a stupid idea to drill for oil in Bristol Bay, one of Aslaska's most productive fisheries?
COME, DRILL IN MY BACKYARD!!!!!

Just stop relying on foreign oil production.....once we have our own, we can control the prices.Does it seem like a stupid idea to drill for oil in Bristol Bay, one of Aslaska's most productive fisheries?
LMAO. Report Abuse

Yes it's a bad idea

Domestic drilling isn't a solution to our high gas prices problem and many other oil problems we currently face

We are just simply moving it

Lets build renewable resources no? So that means we would have an unlimited source of power.

Since there is always more than enough for everyone, the price to heat, cool, power our homes/offices/transportation would be cheaper
there are some sites that they showed us there is nothing there but nothing and its ok they have places like that in alaska. i wouldn't put in something like you are saying but there are tons of places they can drill for and the fact we have already gotten elec cars int he market we're doing ok and sooner then you can wink an eye we'll be ok take care and hang on.
I LIVE IN ALASKA AND I SAY DRILL THAT OIL!! LIBERALS DRIVE AROUND IN THEIR BIG A%26amp;%26amp; CARS AND SAY YOU SHOULD NOT!! GREENIE WEENIES LIE BECAUSE GLOBAL WARMING IS A LIE. WE HAVE A LARGE POPULATION OF ANIMALS HERE!! WE HAD SNOW UP TO APRIL!! LIBERALS WHINE ABOUT ANIMAL POPULATION. THAT IS LIKE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE EXTINCTION OF THE DODO BIRD!! OUR PLANET IS GOING THROUGH A NATURAL CHANGE!!!
Oh, the Bush administration doesn't care about ';stupid.'; They're all over that. They embrace stupid.

Less American fish. Let's import more from Thailand and make sure it's full of chemicals and make sure our FDA isn't well enough funded to test for them (http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=2… ). Already I read that, ridiculously, more than 80 percent of the fish consumed in the U.S. is *imported*. Why? We're f'n surrounded by oceans.

And I don't know why this money for drilling is not going into alternative energy research - like it SHOULD HAVE BEEN FOR YEARS.
I thought the debate was over drilling in Anwr?

When did drilling in a productive fishing area enter the debate? Or is its intent just to muddy up the issue and garner support for the no drilling crowd.
I agree with you. Alternative energy is the answer, not more drilling. (But of course Y!A is the bastion of bigoted conservatives, so I'll get a lot of thumbs down for this, but I don't care.) =P
well, according to the Supreme Court, they are on Big Oils side if they trash the place~!!!

they decided that the Exxon Valdez spill should not have to pay anymore for the damage they did~!!!
They wont, the Dems wont let the bill pass.... Thank God, it'll give us a bigger reason for us to find a new alternative energy while saving the earth.
Only if you're a liberal and unfamiliar with technology.
welcome to reality, everything is about money and greed.
no drilling is good for the environment technology is flawed as been proven in history
Don't the rig moorings serve as attractive shelters for the fish?
Drill
Nope, drill, drill, drill..........
