Change ... Change for America .... YES WE CAN .... Change ..... He states that if we start drilling off shore today that it would take 10 years to get that gas to the pumps .... Amazing how he found a way to funnel $800,000 very quickly to Acorn, but he can get oil / gas from the Ocean to Texas in less than 10 years. hmmmm, CHANGE.Why is Barack Hussein Obama keeping us dependent on foreign oil by refusing to drill here in America?

2) if we drill offshore, that oil won't be produced and sellable for another decade. It's also not guaranteed to stay in the country, or even be enough to make a noticiable difference.





Instead of drilling here/now, let's invest that money into alternative energies, and really free ourselves from dependency on foreign oil.Why is Barack Hussein Obama keeping us dependent on foreign oil by refusing to drill here in America?
Investing in alternative products, and nothing is setup so we become ';less depending on foreign oil'; by any noticeable difference.





Oil goes into the international market for sale...if we ad 3% to that market we may reduce our reliance by 2% because we use so much oil.





Not to mention, there are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of leases where oil companies are refusing to drill. Why give them more access to land they'll just sit on to further drive the price of oil? Look up Thompsons Point in Alaska.
It was your republicans that refused to sign legislation that would keep the oil drilled in the US in the US.

drill here drill now .... LOL the oil would still be sold somewhere else... americans wouldnt get that oil.


If the oil was drilled there and kept there you would benifit but the republicans dont want that. .... well the oil co.'s dont want that but they are one in the same anyways.

Just because it's drilled here, doesn't mean it'll stay here. Foreign oil companies will offer major bucks for that oil, and it will be sold overseas and sold back to us at a huge mark-up.





Drilling isn't the answer to the energy crisis.





Besides, if our dependency on foreign oil is what drove up gas prices, how come they're below $2.00/gallon now? We haven't started drilling and refining any more oil here than we normally do.





So why the drop in oil prices?
Jakejake.... before you say something stupid like there isn't squat in the U.S. maybe you should look it up, The fact is that the U.S. is the 3rd largest producer of oil in the world (look it up) The problem is that our level of consumption far out paces our production. Also the recent price spike in gas had more to do with commodities trading and speculation than supply and demand (you can look that up too) Drilling in the U.S. is not an immediate solution, there are companies that are working on alternative fuel solutions right now. And it is a fact that technology can move faster than simply drilling more. Besides more oil does not increase our refining capacity we can still only refine as much gas as our outdated refineries can produce no matter how much oil we have.
The Windfall Tax he said he would impose on the Oil Companies will lower US production and Increase Imports.





This has happened before and the imports increased by 13%.





In spite of all the information The New President was given about the history of the Tax and the warnings give about how this would hurt the US economy and increase it's dependence on imports He still says he will enforce the Tax.





Was it just another one of those good sounding statements for those who were not aware of the whip lash from it.





Now that this and many other things that were not mentioned in the campaign have come out since the election was over I am wondering why I voted like I did.
The big, green excuse is we need to move away from oil %26amp; develop non-carbon energy sources. Dedicate a ';Manhattan Bomb'; project to it. But this is not war, a bomb was a clear possibility, %26amp; FDR didnt stop conventional weapons development.


BO %26amp; the dems want to squash carbon in the name of ';Global Warming'; %26amp; sky-high oil prices will go a long way to make that happen. They dont care the effect it'll have on the economy %26amp; Americans - effectively destroying our economy. BUT, it will leave the Democrat gov't in total control.

You have to first destroy the companies that are in this country before you can say ';hey, we need companies and there isn't any left, so let the government run them';. They already have a good start by taxing the companies so high that they are moving to other countries. We'll be like the old Soviet Union or Cuba before you know it.
The liberals (democrats) have an agenda to bring America down to the standard of living of other countries. Bleeding us dry at the pump is part of that plan. They are also the reason we do not have adequate refining capacity. You didn't actually believe his campaign promises did you?

2. Additional drilling in Utah will not materially affect our dependence on foreign oil.
Because he likes screwing the American people with ridiculous gas prices and with some sick twisted logic decided that it will help the green energy agenda. He thinks this is going to help people not drive as much.
