Why all the Drilling propaganda, since when has Big Oil not been able to drill where & when ever they want ???

With angle drilling they can tap into off shore oil from downtown LA.

Or in ANWR they drill multi wells from one point and call it No New Wells

And America seems to suck up the propaganda and pay more and more at the pump. Why all the Drilling propaganda, since when has Big Oil not been able to drill where %26amp; when ever they want ???
Finding more oil is a mistake, its like a heroin addict finding more smack. Burning oil destroys our world, it will make it unlivable soon. Drilling for oil also destroys fragile ecosystems that we depend on to produce food and oxygen for us.

We need to break the oil habit, not feed it.Why all the Drilling propaganda, since when has Big Oil not been able to drill where %26amp; when ever they want ???
Not necessarily so. You have to have the leases to drill, then the permits (which sometimes takes 7-10 years). As you call it angle drilling (we call it directinal or slant drilling, cuts you percentage of hitting your target emensly. In most cases we would rather drill a straight hole, not to menion the cost factor rises two fold and sometimes three fold on a directional drill.

You libs love that term ';Big Oil';, don't you?

';Big Oil'; is made up of thousands of American stockholders-many of whom are lower and middle class. And many pesion plans are invested in ';Big Oil';.

Also....';Big Oil'; provides tens of thousands of jobs for people and is the largest investor in alternative energy.

You libs all use oil in some way.....but you just have to demonize it. You should thank ';Big Oil'; every day for doing an amazing job of exploring, drilling, transporting and refining.

Let's face it--it's just spin designed by the far right noise machine to get a bunch of uninformed Americans agitated so they will support McCain. And sadly, it's working wth the so-called ';Low Information Voters.'; They just believe everything they hear Rush and Hannity say and don't bother to do their own research.
You are absolutely right. I'm glad you are in support of drilling rigs in downtown LA and will sign the petition to allow this to happen.

We aren't talking oil wells we are talking drilling rigs. To drill slant wells into miles off shore would require the biggest hardware you have ever seen.
Because they are banned from doing so by those oh so caring Dems in Congress. Yes, the oil companies can do as you say, at tremendous cost and not in areas where they would make a profit. That is not propoganda, that is the truth.
It's always been a refining problem . Big oil bought up all the refinners and shut down over half years ago .
For 30 years or more thanks to the Dems, liberals and Green people.
Good Question!
LOL true enough

um uh b-b ecause ahhhh ohh um barrack quote
Where did you get your degree in drilling oil?

Air America

The propaganda you sucking up is the idea we tax big oil that would lower gas price for us.

BTW: Did you get your tire gauge yet?
Big Oil makes plenty of dough from their refineries - too bad the federal, state and local governments have made it virtually impossible for them to build more refineries. None have been built for the last 32 years - yet our consumption has risen by 45%.

You are aware, I'm sure, that the bulk of oil coming on down the pipeline from Alaska is presently going to China and other foreign nations because we don't have the number of facilities necessary to process it into gas and and other products?

It has cost one company over $30 million and over 6 years to promote a new refinery in Arizona, along the Mexican border - a process which has involved countless reports, licenses, endangered species analysis, Indian burial ground documentation, overal possible environmental impact studies and on and on and on it goes - so far, little or no real progress has been realized in this latest attempt to utilize more of our own resources.

The REAL propaganda are the politicians who keep us focused on evil Big Oil rather than their own policies.
