Will the Democrats refusal to drill for American oil be their political undoing in November?

If that were the only item!! Obama will be the biggest. The fact that Congress's approval ratings are the lowest since 1976, Pelosi's big mouth, Hillary and Bill, oh the list just goes on and on!Will the Democrats refusal to drill for American oil be their political undoing in November?
The more educated conservative American knows that fossil fuels are the past, I promise you science is not evil. I like how republicans rage a war on everything they cant control, instead of gaining knowledge and adapting to the situation.

Bush's war on education will be over soon, im pretty happy about that. Will the Democrats refusal to drill for American oil be their political undoing in November?
Doubtful. Smart people know better.

Oh, wait. 50% voted for Bush the second time. Scratch my comment about ';smart people';. There aren't enough of us.

Consider:

The 574 million acres of federal costal water that are off-limits are believed to hold almost 18 billion barrels of oil and 77 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, according to the Interior Department..

Sounds like a lot.

But consider that the US currently uses 7.6 billion barrels of oil a year, and 21 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.

So even if all of that oil were used ONLY in the US, we get 2.5 years worth of oil, and 3.5 years of gas.

How does that solve ANYTHING?
No.

So no one here is following the philosophy and words of T. Boone Pickens - one of the biggest Texas oil men there are - who says the global oil crisis ';is a problem we can't drill ourselves out of';?

Drilling now won't produce any benefits for at least 10 years...minimum.

Change the situation...don't prolong the problem...
I believe it will. The 'truth' about ANWR is out. The 'truth' about off shore drilling - when even Green countries like Norway drill, drill, drill.

Taxing our large corps to death will drive them out of this country - just like England (UK) had happen a few decades ago.

Did you know that Ireland dropped it's capital gains taxe from 38% to 12% and they are the No. 1 growing economy in the world.

Obama wants to raise our capital gains taxes to 26 percent. What do you think that is going to do to our economy?
depends... the Dems need to do a MUCH better job of getting the opinions of the expert economists out there...

most say drilling won't really have any tangible effect on fuel costs... even at peak production...

it they can get that message out... it shouldn't bother them...
Since we already export over one half of what we produce to foreign countries, I would say that it doesn't undo my vote at all. If we are going to produce more, it is just more oil to ship overseas.
nominating an inexperienced novice with no solid convictions of the issues will be their undoing. That is, if you can call having McCain as Prez their undoing.....I don't know that I can.
No. But the high gas prices, debacle in iraq and all of bush's other blunders might be the republican's undoing in november!
The Democrats are cutting not only their throats, but the throats of all Americans trying to survive in the chaos that they have created.
Possibly, many ignorant folks do not understand world economics.
they'll be caving in to Bush like they have on most other issues, thank god. oops, did I mention god. sorry.
