Should Polar Bears Be Removed From the 'Endangered Species List' In Order To Make It Easier To Drill For Oil?

By offering polar bears protected status it is hampering efforts to get at oil in Alaska:

Do you think that the 'endangered species' status that polar bears currently enjoy should be downgraded so that they can be removed from the oil sites by force?Should Polar Bears Be Removed From the 'Endangered Species List' In Order To Make It Easier To Drill For Oil?
Oil extraction in Alaska IS going to happen, as to when, your guess is as good as mine.

The West must find a source of oil which is independent of the Gulf States or die!

Species of shark are being wiped out simply for their fins!

Whales are in mortal danger of the resumption of commercial whaling!

Polar Bears can be protected AND oil exploration continue, personally I see no real conflict here.Should Polar Bears Be Removed From the 'Endangered Species List' In Order To Make It Easier To Drill For Oil?
Sarah Palin is another example of the ignorant, shortsighted and uneducated types that think we can carry on exploiting the planet for our own convenience without a thought for the environment, ecology and the diversity of the beautiful Earth God created. It is selfish and sinful to set out to destroy any part of Creation, we were commanded to take care of it. To protect the environment is to do God's will. She obviously doesn't believe in Him.

It would behove Americans to learn how to conserve and use oil more efficiently, instead of being so wasteful and profligate. Last time I looked gluttony and greed were not listed as virtues in the Bible.

Even if it were easier to drill for oil, the amount in the region will not bring down the price. The supply of oil, the 'flow' is slowing down while demand is constantly rising. Any relief in oil prices would only be temporary, oil is a finite resource and at some point it will run out, not for a few decades yet, but it will. It would be better for all if we learn to live without out it before then.
no, they should be removed if the criteria for being put on the list are no longer met. It amazes me that evolution is lifted up as the force which ultimately led the animal kingdom from paramecium to all we see today, and yet when an animal species that we think is cute or good is declining in numbers we have to intervene and allow the less fit to survive? I remember reading an article recently about the hunting of whales and how this was an outrage. Then I thought.... wait a minute. this is an animal that lives its life in the ocean, can swim at high rates of speed and dive to great depths, can quite possibly communicate with others of its species, and yet it allows a ship to slowly amble up and shoot a harpoon into its side. Why hasn't the whale learned to swim away fast or at least warn his fellow whales of the danger. If whales have the tools to prevent their own demise and they don't use them, then they are less fit, let nature take its course. Likewise if the polar bear with all of its size/strength/claws/jaws is declining in numbers, then he is less fit,and nature should settle out what the final population should be.
No. I have a great idea which no one has thought of. Why not have smaller families! Yeah that's it. Why not get people around the world to have less children. Wow what a strtange idea.

The oil problem won't be solved by Alaska. Did you know that every year 7 million cars go on the road in China? 7 Million. That's just China. All over the world there is a giant boom in demand for everything. You can't stop people from following what the US has promoted. The bears aren't the problem.

People and their values are the problem. Less people on the earth means a better planet for all.
the worlds greed for oil because it can't be bothered to look for alternative energies is bad enough without being used as justification to murder polar bears!

an animal is on the endangered list because its endangered not for its inconvenience! companies should work with and around nature not try an kill anything that gets in their way.

fist step polar bears next step indigenous humans - this is rather a fascist attitude to a serious ecological issue.

No NO NO NO
Several sources are reporting that the polar bear population has doubled in the last few decades. Are they truly endangered?

If you don't support drilling for oil, don't complain about gas prices when they exceed $4-7 per gallon.
Yeah! Polar bear steak anyone?
no, instead of stirring up a lot of protest if they did that, they just wait a few more years and the polar bears will be gone anyway.
NO!

It's a pity Greedy Oil Hogs are not on the endangered species lists.
No, would you like somebody coming to your house and telling you to leave.
I'm quite shocked you could even think up such a repugnant question as that.....
No, they must have a difficult life, so let them be. This planet is here for all not just the American oil companies.
