We should stop drilling for oil, period! Make solar and wind energy profitable on a wide scale, as well as other energy making possibilities. If for some reason (such as stupid bureaucratic politicians) we cant, see....

I think we should not take another single drop of oil out of American soil. We should first drain the entire Middle East dry, then we can FINALLY forget about that God forsaken corner of the world.





Then we turn our lustful thirst for oil towards Russia. We suck the pipelines dry until their rigs start blowing dust!





What is left? A powerful America with all (or at least the vast majority) of the world's oil reserves. When only WE have fuel for airplanes and tanks we take over the world!





And make me (or my descendants) Dictator For Life.





P.S. I think some puny South American country also has a bit of oil. We'll just need to look at them real mean and they'll give it up, I suppose.





P.P.S. There are also strategical points to consider. Oil reserves underground cannot be bombed, not even by nuclear weapons. If it were ever to come to that, wouldnt it be nice to know, afterwards, that we are sitting on a whole bunch of oil?Should we drill for the oil discovered in Alaska?
Yes! The local people and government want it done and we need it.
So we won't be so dependent on overseas oil companies.
Why not? This will increase revenue of local government and creat jobs as well as this oil may reduce prices also.

The amount of oil up there is so little it would not matter. We would just be ruining wildlife reserves and that is it.

Did you know that the world's largest oil reserve, trillions of barrels of oils is in the shale deep below CO and the surrounding states. They've improved the technology to acheive efficiency in drilling through shale, and I think they should start there!
sure,the quicker the better,if we could find all our oil source's and use them. we would be a better,stronger nation.our price of gas would drop.food.merchandise prices would drop down.although it would take many years before,you could see it all working.
