How did the Dem's compromise on offshore drilling when 88% of the oil is less than 50 miles from the coast?

is that what Dem's call compromise...we get 88% of what we want, you get 12% of what you want...

';How much new drilling do we get out of this bill? It's zero. Just zero,'; declared House Republican leader John Boehner of Ohio. ';It's a hoax on the American people. This is intended for one reason ... so the Democrats can say we voted on energy.';

The bill would not share royalties from energy production with the adjacent states, which Republicans said would keep states from accepting any new drilling off their beaches. Republicans also cited Interior Department estimates that 88 percent of the 18 billion barrels of oil believed to be in waters now under drilling bans would remain off-limits because they are within the 50-mile protective coastal buffer.

This is another fraud the Liberals are trying to pull on American Public, It never stops,They think we are all stupid How did the Dem's compromise on offshore drilling when 88% of the oil is less than 50 miles from the coast?
The Oil companies already have over 800 leases on 68 million acres to drill and they haven't drilled hole one. And dwhat would be there motivation? If they idd the price of gas would go down and they WOULD LOSE MONEY. The oil company is a business like anyother an the goal is to make profits. ALl this si is a big political game
The Republican oil companies haven't even tried to drill in 85% of the places they can. Now that the fight is over...drill, but, they wont. It was all just something for the Repubes HAD to use against Dem's. Funny.
well, Miss atheist, how about drilling get done safely in that 12% and then we can get to that other 88%. Or do you think oil companies can drill all 100% of that reserve at once?
