Is it fair for libs to condemn US dependance on Arab oil & block us from drilling off-shore?

BP of the UK will benefit for one of the biggest oil finds in history, in the Gulf of Mexico. America could be more secure with less dependence on Arab oil but libs will not allow us to drill off-shore.

Can libs have it both ways- disparage us for buying Arab oil and at the same time, prevent us from drilling off-shore?

Everyone knows that a reduction of foreign oil dependency is needed, but Libs do not offer a viable alternative. Everything they suggest is too expensive for the american people.

Conservatives offer alternatives such as nuclear power to generate electricity instead of using oil, biodiesels that can made from a variety of sources, but it costs to incorporate these alternatives into common commodities. So they suggest drilling for oil in our own country and use the tax dollars from that to invest in alternative energy and making it cheap enough for the american people to buy instead of oil.

The libs just wants to make oil more expensive because they don't know how to make the alternatives as cheap as oil.

Why are more rich people liberals anyways? Bush lives in a single ranch home, but the Clintons, the Gores, the Pelosis, and the Obama's have mansions? Is it fair for libs to condemn US dependance on Arab oil %26amp; block us from drilling off-shore?
Yes, it is fair.

Because what is present in the Gulf of Mexico will only provide enough energy for approximately 5-7 years in America, due to the sheer size of our consumption.

And it will take us 7-10 years just to get to it. So for those first 7-10 years, we will continue to be dependent on Middle East oil. Then we will be free for 5-7 years, only to have to go back to Middle East oil again.

On the other hand, if we leave oil altogether, we can really break free from the Middle Eastern oil. We won't need oil hardly at all. Then we can go get that Gulf of Mexico oil, and it will last decades longer because our demand will have dropped to practically nothing.

I'm all for drilling here. I'm against drilling now. We should wait until we can maximize the potential of that oil; and that means first going to wind, solar, wave, nuclear, geothermal, and hydroelectric power.
They only care about one thing, POWER. What you control is what you have power over. If you control the money then your power is almost limitless. They want the power to control every aspect of your life.

I will not live under that kind of rule. Live Free or Die
Why would liberals be against our dependence on foreign oil? They love terrorist countries and countries that harbour them. If we weren't buying oil from the middle east those countries would collapse and then the democrats would really be in a snit.
Yes, it's fair. The lib position is to shift our energy policy so that it isn't dependent on oil. Oil won't last forever, and the sooner we shift our energy policy, the better off we'll be down the road.
There are thousands of off-shore drilling sites currently running. There is and will be no ban on them. The only ban on drilling is future drilling in wildlife refuges.
