If congress is concerned about oil prices, why did they extend a ban on drilling of the shores of America?

Whoever said congress was concerned about oil prices? They don't care, they may look like they care, but they only care to the point where they can make you happy enough to not vote someone else to take their place next election. Their just looking out for number one. For the most part, they don't really seem to care about the people. If congress is concerned about oil prices, why did they extend a ban on drilling of the shores of America?
You have to have 60 votes to pass anything in the Senate now without them the Dems filibuster. If congress is concerned about oil prices, why did they extend a ban on drilling of the shores of America?
Its a Ruse, They Dont Care. They are Making Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars a Year.
They're not they're concerned with how much money is in it for them....
A very good question, but I think they know we have a wealth of oil in Alaska, and don't want to jeopordize the turist industry on the coasts. Drilling can still take place offshore, it just needs to be 3 miles or more offshore. However, if a local area wants to drill, and sacrifice some turist dollars due to oil rigs in sight, I believe they should be allowed to, within environmental concerns of course.
It is because they are having the Americans like dulls and they earn the money and their companies thrive while the Americans are sinking in the the dark sea of lies by their leaders.
This problem has been going on for years. The Al Gores of the world won't let us build new refineries or open up our oil wells we already have in this country. We may need an alternative but until then we need to use our own resource of oil. Congress must vote on this and they have and the majority of the votes were against it so therefore we have to pay the price.
