You need to look at the deed to your propery. Mineral and drilling rights may not belong to you. On my property, they are explicitly excluded.
Best Regards,
DocmaseWhat happens if they drill for oil and find some on my land?
It depends...
Most real estate deeds include some verbage indicating that Mineral Rights do not transfer. Someone else probably owns the mineral rights on your property. You'd have to go back and check your deed for this. Most people are completely unaware of this.
Mineral Rights include oil, natural gas, gold, silver, copper and all kinds of goodies. You most likely have no ownership of these things. What happens if they drill for oil and find some on my land?
Depending on how much oil is in the ';Pool'; in that section of the earth and at today's prices, you would be a multi-millionaire...
they fine you for polluting the environment.
Depending on the percentage of oil found, you would no doubt be very rich, especially in today's oil market hype. Ever watch Beverly Hiilbilly's, that could be u Jed
They buy your land.
Who are ';they';, and what would they be doing drilling on YOUR land?
You become rich as hell??
I think it would all depend on the CONTRACT you have with the drilling company right??? Surely somone didn't just drag an oil rig onto your property and start drilling!!!!
You load up the truck and move to Beverly
You probably dont own the mineral rights, but if you do you could lease it out. Otherwise you would be paid for access to your property
