Why can't the demo rats just let us drill for our own oil?

WE are America the most tech advanced country in the world why do they think we can't get our own oil safey.Why can't the demo rats just let us drill for our own oil?
Yes, there are some areas they want them to explore, but only about 1/4 of the leased land has oilon it! Also, studies have shown that drilling is safe, but they still oppose it. They want us to remain dependent on foreign oil even though there are 2 trillion barrels not including offshore and anwr.





Most of the world鈥檚 known unconventional oil resources are located in North America. Some1.7 trillion barrels of oil are contained in the oil sands of Canada (Ref. 9, Pg. 40). An addi-tional 2.0 trillion barrels are contained in oil shale located in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana (oil shale re-sources discussed in Volume II).





We need to get to our own oil while working on alternative energy. Our whole economy depends on it.Why can't the demo rats just let us drill for our own oil?

Yes we need alternative fuels, but we're not even remotely close to being able to buy cars and fill them up with something other than gas. Hydrogen car costs a couple hundred thousand to make!





Over 1000 wells were damaged or destroyed by Katrina and Ruth...


Not ONE DROP leaked.





the tens of thousands of oil wells in the world...when was the last spill?????





The real reason? The are heavily funded by environmental extremists who are not so much interested in saving the planet, as in destroying this country.

That doesn't bother you?
Well, first of all, they are drilling, the Gulf of Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, just to name a few places.





It won't lower the price of gas, it's all sold on the world market and we do not have enough oil to have a significant impact on world supply.





All it is going to do is enrich the oil companies that drill it and sell it.
This drilling scheme is just another giveaway of federal land to the big oil companies that already have tens of millions of acres of public land under their control.





We won't have lower oil prices and our environment will be further damaged. If there were a plan in place to guarantee us the lower prices, then maybe we could negotiate more drilling but right now the oil companies do whatever they want and we pay whatever the price is.
ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY AND WHO IS IN POWER. AS OF NOW THE LIBERAL DEMS,[[ WITH THE HELP OF THE GREENS, GEORGE SOROS, HOLLYWOOD, THE LIBERAL MEDIA ]], THEY HAVE THE PEOPLE RIGHT WHERE THEY WANT THEM, HATING AND BLAMING THE G.O.P. FOR EVERYTHING THAT'S GONE WRONG BE IT THE TRUTH OR NOT. THEY COULD CARE LESS IF THE PEOPLE ARE HURTING. P.S. WHAT ABOUT IRAQ NOW THAT WE ARE WINNING, NOW ITS THE ECONOMY STUPID, IT WORKED FOR THEM BEFORE LOOKS LIKE ITS WORKING FOR THEM AGAIN, AND REMEMBER THINGS STARTED TO GO SOUTH AFTER THE 2006 ELECTION AND THEY GOT CONTROL OF CONGRESS, THIS IS ALL THEIR DOING BY DESIGN.
That would be the wrong direction, in my opinion. This old planet is just so big. With millions of cars and trucks polluting the air, it just makes more sense to me to look for alternative fuels. Popular Mechanics has an article last month about one of our universities already have a hydrogen on demand car in the works. Hydrogen, separated from water, burned in the engine, exhaust, water. This country can do great things when put under pressure.


For what it's worth.
The Democrats aren't stopping the oil companies from not drilling in the 68 million acres they already have. That's Big Oil's doing right there.





Maybe we should be looking to wean ourselves off of oil, period.
