Why do Democrats not want to drill in the US for more oil?

They like to use the gasoline, so why are they so against us (Americans) making more.





If they are that dead set against it shouldn't they NOT use it? It only seems fair after allWhy do Democrats not want to drill in the US for more oil?
Many have to court the environmental vote. As for myself, I'm ready to drill through a polar bear's head to get a gallon of gas.Why do Democrats not want to drill in the US for more oil?
The vote was 77 out of 99 Senators against. I think it must have been bipartisan, yet the headlines all said Democrats were opposed. McCain did not vote. I guess the conservative Republicans did not think that it was worth it since getting the oil was so expensive that the oil companies would not drill for it unless the taxpayers paid for the drilling.





Also, I bike commute to work 11 miles each way. I do practice what I preach. I am fume free, healthy and do not care if the price goes to 12.00 a gallon.
What you Reich wingers don't seem to understand is that it will make ZERO difference.





American oil is sold on the open futures market for profit not for use by the US.





Also demand for oil has dropped by about 6% since last year while supply has risen by about 5%, so we are approx 10% better off this year than last year.


The price of oil is being artificially bumped up for nothing but pure greed of oil companies and the top 2% that are heavily invested in the stock market.
It would ';cost'; [money is irrelevant EROEI is what is real] almost as much to build the pipeline al what the oil would return. That is why the oil companies will only drill if the US government subsidize the pipeline with taxpayer funds. Its too little too late.

democrats are realistic. you can spend your money to drill for oil that will last you for 5 more years. we'll improve renewable energy sources that will last a lifetime, such as solar power. then we'll see who is walking to work.
they want the industry to come up with better engines so far the auto industrie has been sitting on their duba for to long


there are no exuses not to. the europeans and japs can do it so let them come up with the better idea

we've sucked up all teh oil in america. theres some shale oil but that's too expensive to produce.

Some of the more insane democrats, like Pelosi, have no idea what it's like to work for a living and spend a larger and larger chunk of your paycheck just to get there and back.
