Is Antarctica being drilled for oil?

Sources please? Is Antarctica being drilled for oil?
No, since the Antarctic treaty of 1959 Antarctica has been considered politically neutral, though some countries still claim areas of it their claims don't hold any weight. In 1983 the counties which signed the Antarctic Treaty began negotiating to allow mining on the continent, but thanks to Greenpeace and other campaigning groups negotiations never progressed far. Eventually in 1998 the Protocol on Environmental Protection to the Antarctic Treaty (the ';Madrid Protocol';) entered force, it bans all mining (and presumably oil drilling) activities and designates the continent as a ';natural reserve devoted to peace and science';. For the purposes of the treaty Antarctica is defined as all land and ice shelves south of 60掳 S.Is Antarctica being drilled for oil?

there were some research centers I think a while back but I doubt it currently is.... the ice is too unstable to drill through.......best just wait for it all to disappear right?
