Yes. We should pursue energy independence on all fronts: drilling, gas, coal, wind, solar, hydro, tidal, geo, bio, chemical, hydrogen and nuclear -- you name it, we should be doing it, but wisely.Do you want responsible and effective domestic drilling for OUR oil?
No, what I want are cheap electric and air powerred vehicles, more wind farms and low cost solar panels.

The civilian population can live with out it, thanks.

The civilian population have been held hostage for many years by a few millionares in bed with the goverment to finace the war mahinery at our expence.
The US gets almost all of it's oil from Canada and Saudi Arabia. Nothing will bring the price down short of assassinating members of Bilderberg for it is they who have shut off the spigots to raise the price and then purposely tanked the US dollar in a blatant attempt to eradicate the middle class.
I don`t know because if we let them take a-little by little it may save more then if we have a panic down the road and they go in gang buster on the land. For now I think we should save it until we really need it, until the oil companies prove that they are using the land they already have.
great idea, why do we keep making these arabs rich while they continuously refuse to produce more oil, although that is a short term fix, we need to find alternative sources of fuel.
You do know the Gulf Republican governors are OPPOSED to drilling?
Yes.
There is plenty domestic drilling for oil in the US. Over 2,100 active oil rigs in the US, up 38% from last year. Along with almost 10,000 new drilling permits issued just awaiting for activity to begin, and a increase of 300% in the number of drilling permits on federal land. The reason for high gas prices in not supply and even if it were all of the oil in ANWR would do nothing to change the price of gas. Oh and that urban legend about China drilling off the Florida coast has been proven to be just that, a myth.
