Even if we drilled our own, the commodities market sets the prices. Next, we do not have enough refinery capacity to put out more gas. Basically, you really would not see a reduction in the cost of your gas.
The US already drills for oil in the United States. But drilling in the Alaska Arctic preserve will not do anything to change the price of oil. Studies show the drilling will only account for a .01 drop in the price of a gallon of gas.
You misunderstand the stupidity and stubbornness of the liberal left.





They don't really care how badly America is hurt, as long as their precious ideals are achieved.





So, to answer your question...there is not upper limit, as long as the salmon can swim, the polar bears are safe, and the caribou don't have to put up with nasty ugly pipelines.





HACKER: Unless you're using nuclear power (a big no-no to the environmentalists), all electric cars do is transfer the pollution from the car to the powerplant. Wind and solar are just too unreliable.
The supply of oil is not the problem. The United States is the 3rd largest producer of oil. If we had more oil we couldn't refine it, no more refining capacity. The current price of gasoline is caused by speculation in the commodities market and the weak dollar.
How high will it go before they create a responsible energy policy?





We could give tax breaks to anyone who wants to put horizontal wind generators and solar cells on their roof tops right now. The free electricity would fill up batteries in their garages. Their electric car would recharge overnight FOR FREE AND HAVE NO CARBON FOOTPRINT AT ALL.
